Before The Wedding Questions:

Are you the person who will be taking my wedding pictures?

Yes! I will always be the person taking your pictures. I don't hire other photographers to cover dates for me. I will often bring an assistant to help transport equipment and do some set up work, but I will always be taking your wedding photographs.

Do you know of great beach or volcano spots that might be ideal for our ceremony? What about helping finding us a minister?

Are you primarily a wedding photographer or do you focus on differnt types of photography?

95% of my photography business is weddings ! I used to be a photojournalist for a newspaper and accept editorial work for a few magazines. In the past 5 years , I've photographed almost only weddings ! I feel that it's a huge advantage to my brides to have a photographer that specializes in weddings since wedding photography has unique characteristics that make it different from any other type of photography. Having a photographer who is completely comfortable shooting weddings leads to a more relaxed day for the bride and groom!

What kind of Camera's do you have? How high is the image quality? Do you carry back up equipment?
I shoot with a Canon 20D (8.2 Mega-pixels and a large digital back). The high resolution images can be enlarged to 24 by 30 inches perfectly (absolutely no distortion or loss of image quality). I also have professional Canon cameras for my negative equipment. I ALWAYS have backup equipment with me. Generally, I'll be carrying 3 sets of camera's and lenses to your wedding.

It looks like all the packages include a CD. Are the images that come on CD High Resolution? Can I print from them?
Yes - the images are High Resolution images. You can print from your CD.

Do you re-touch photographs?
I retouch at no extra charge for large prints and print for wedding albums (digital format). This includes airbrushing skin, fixing "fly-aways" in hair , objects in the background, ect.

What area of Costa Rica are you most familiar with?
I'm most familiar with the Quepos / Manuel Antonio area and the Lake Arenal / La Fortuna areas. I am open to shooting in other areas and I travel to most of the country for free.

On the Wedding Day Questions:

Do you check out the location beforehand?
Yes ! I will be at your wedding location between 30 minutes and an hour early to check everything out , meet your families, and find the best spots for some formal photographs.

Does the time spent driving to my reception or taking a break during the reception count against my photography time?
Hours generally run consecutively, but we can split your hours up ( at no charge ) if you need to.

Are you able to take last minute bookings?
It depends on where I'll be the day before your wedding or where I need to be the day after. Just give me a call anytime and I'll let you know if it's possible !

Is it true that you live in the U.S., but come to Costa Rica for free for weddings?
Yes. I travel 1-2 times a year for destination weddings without a travel fee ( you can get the rates you see on this site ). You can learn more about me on my U.S. site by clicking here. It's a very unique situation and can be a very good deal for web savvy couples. I have traveled for 5 destination weddings already, so I can provide you galleries from those events and references! I will always arrive at least 2 days before your wedding and I usually stay about a week after. I still have space for one event this winter with FREE TRAVEL and one 2009 event ( anytime during the year ) with FREE TRAVEL!
